Why is it that after using the electric hedge cutters I can't hold anything still with my right hand, it's very shakey, possibly because of the vibrations?

Left hand acts similairly but not as bad.

The vibration agrivates your carpal tunnel and ulnar nerves. All you can really do is wear good padded palm gloves or work for shorter periods of time and the sensation won't be as bad.

It is effecting R>L because you are holding more of the force with your right. You may have less trouble with a quality gass clipper because it will cut faster and fight you less.

You might also wrap the part you grab with a vibration absorbing material (I used pipe insulation on my weed eater which is a 1.8 Hp monster and saw notable improvement).

Other than that I don't have a lot of suggestions short of getting someone else to do it.

Hope this helps

you're using muscles in your hands that aren't normally used unless you are someone who works with their hands a lot. It causes strain, which causes the muscles to "shudder" for lack of a better word. You can either use your hands more by getting one of those spring loaded excercisers that you grip and release, or find some other way to work out the muscles in your hands

Yes, it is the vibration. My butt is tingly after I get off the riding mower for the same reason, and hubby gripes about his whole arm shaking from the weed-eater.

Welcome to the wide world of out door power tools. It happens to me all the time! Bummer isnt it, makes you think you have palsy. If it does not go away after about 30 min, see your doctor.
