yup. the build up has been happening for a while with more and more US causalities in Iraq being blamed directly or indirectly on Iran. This is actually more commonplace in the 'serious' press.
The attention given to Paris Hilton in the mainstream isn't irrelevant as it distracts form the real issues of historic importance which are unfolding. it also makes for a tabloid-esque, non-news media which is actually part of the dumbing down strategy.
as an ignorant population is much easier to manipulate.

Completely. Since the Vietnam War, the US gvt has not allowed the media to fully cover US' wars. Since 1975, after the Vietnam disaster, the US gvt has realized to what extent the media could influence the public's opinion by divulging the horrors of the war. Since then, they have had complete control over the media; the current war in Irak is censored shamelessly by the government, as if freedom in writing and speech didn't exist anymore.
Since the US media is censored on the war in Irak, what stops the government to go further than censoring and manipulating as you say the content to make the population rise up against Iran?
Nothing, absolutely nothing. This is why getting information from different sources and different countries is CRUCIAL to have a truly OPEN and wide perspective.
I invite you all to consult other medias than US and communicate with people of other countries.

Look at the history of how things work and it's abundantly clear that's exactly what we are doing. Cocaine became illegal because blacks were doing it and going crazy and raping white women in the south, it didn't matter that it wasn't true. The same was done with opium and the Chinese and the same stories were used. First you find the "enemy" and demonize said enemy, then you do something to stop said enemy. Never mind Iran is a democracy, that simple truth doesn't matter.

Is it any different from the Aztec priests using an eclipse as a sign to go to war for their own purposes...I don't think mankind is getting more civilized...Bush has brought us down a notch

Only an idiot would be behind going to war with Iran. The US media does nothing but push government propaganda and fear.

With over 4000 americans killed in Iraq with no end in sight, and no nuke bomb making abilities in sight for Iran, it's not going to happen with Bush.

I don't watch TV so I guess i will never be brainwashed. We will go to war if it is in the best interest of our country. Period. Some people will be against it which works to the benefit of our enemies, but we are getting used to that.

We should go to war with Iran but I wouldn't say the media is doing this. Maybe fox news because it is more conservative than the rest but that would be about it. The rest of the media is controlled by people people like Rosie Odonnell who think people like Bush are the terrorists, not Iran.
