Obviously all these folks who answered have never been to church in the south, where fried chicken is the ONLY choice for Sunday dinner!!! It's a running joke at my church about who is having fried chicken so the pastor can visit for dinner! It is a tradition and a good one-that's why you crave fried chicken, you probably have memories from childhood about Sunday dinner! Have the chicken!!! It's Comfort Food-enjoy it!!!

The big traditional Sunday dinners. I don't cook fried chicken, but I love to cook a big meal on Sundays. I grew up in the south so we always had an early dinner on Sundays. Mom would start cooking early in the morning, before church. When we got home we would always sit down and have a huge meal. Chicken, ham, or roast, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, green beans or greens. It's making be hungry now...

It is part of a huge conspiracy between the Christian church and KFC to get you hungry they pump 11 herbs and spices into the room when the pastor is giving his sermon this as a result sends a subliminal message to everybody in the church to go eat chicken.

I bet your mom made fried chicken on Sundays after church like my mom did. There were 7 of us plus mom and dad, so we all gathered at the table on Sunday after church and ate dinner together. I still remember eating Sunday dinners with my familiy. It was always a big dinner.
Its been a long time, my mother got sick when I was 17 and Sunday dinners stopped. Mom died, and our family went our seperate ways and we dont get together anymore.
Sundays are terribly lonely for me.

im not the only one. OK, did you have it during your childhood after church for a sunday lunch, or dinner? Did you get chicken from the church in a bake sale? Sometimes, memories are triggered through smells, or being in different places that the memory occured.

Going to church is often a time for family. Do you have memories of your mom or grandma's fried chicken? Maybe you correlate family time with family meals.

Or maybe your preacher has bird legs. lol. j/k

I do not know. I go to church every week and I am use to it. Sometimes I have to serve (I am an altar server), and I have to go to church early. Maybe you should try eating more before you go to church.
