Well then you need to head north, or very far south. It's winter below the equator, you can visit much of South America or places like Australia. It's also a very nice time to visit Canada as cities like Montreal and Vancouver are wonderful. Also Alaska is great in August, no better time. Even visiting England and Ireland is not bad in August.

There are plenty of wonderful places to visit in August and not have to put up with the heat.
