Ichat for Mac users, problems w/ adding buddies?

sometimes when i add a buddy, they do not show up on my list? why is that? anyway i can fix it?

Are you trying to add an AIM or .Mac buddy? Those are the only ones who are usable in iChat without special third party configuration. All of the Apple community (Mac users) have been hounding Apple for years to open iChat to Yahoo and Microsoft messenger buddies but it hasn't happened. At this time, you have to configure another messenger server such as Jabber to handle the transmissions. Then you must authorize the Yahoo gateway, blah blah.
