Use a small amount of toothpaste with water. Rub it in a circular motion with your finger all around the disk. Toothpaste is a mild abrasive that acts like gentle sandpaper. I have had some success with this on scratched disks.

Toothpaste works,
Believe it or not peanut butter works as well!(smooth not crunchy).

If it has scratches, then put it in your toilet, and flush, and it really does get rid of the scratches. No joke, i do it with all my scratched discs.

ammonia and bleach might melt the cd
