y is the cost and x the number of pages
1) y= 25 + 0.10 x for x in [0;250]
y= 25 + 0.15 x for x>250

2) you use the second equation
y=25 + 0.15*300 = 70$

3) Use the first equation:
60 = 25 + 0.10 x ==> x=350 pages, which is not possible because this equation is for x< 250
So you use the second equation:
60 = 25+0.15 x ==> x= 233,333
So you can print 233 pages with 60$

a) Let N be the number of pages to be copied. If N < or equal to 250, the equation will be 25 + 0.1N dollars and if N > 250, we have 50 + 0.05 (N - 250)

b) 250 X 0.1 + 50 X 0.05 + 25 = 52.5 dollars

c) First subtract 25. That leaves 35 dollars. Out of which 25 dollars will get 250 pages and the balance 10 dollars will fetch 200 pages. So, total of 450 pages can be copied.

1/ let:
P= cost to print
A= # of copy < 250 or = 250
B= # of copy > 250

Equation 1 : P = 25 + 0.1A
This equation is used for P < $50 or # of copy is A
Equation 2: P = 25 + .1A + .05(B- 250)
This equation is used for P > $50 or B > 250 and A = 250

2/ Now we calculate the cost to print 300 copies
- We use equation 2 because B >250
P = 25 + .1A + .05(300-250)
= 25 + 25 + 2.5
= $52.5

3/ We calculate how many copy we can print with $60
We use equation 2 because P>$50
P = 25 +.1A + .05 (B-250)
60 = 25 + .1x250 + .05B - 12.5
60 - 25 - 25 + 12.5 = .05B
B = 450 copies

Let try if cost to print is $40. How many copy can we print.
We use equation 1 because P = $40 ( <$50)
P = 25 + .1A
40 = 25 + .1A
.1A = 15
A = 150 copies
So with these 2 equations we can calculate any printing job

a)25P+0.1F+0.05A where P is the number of printing orders made, F is the number of pages less or equal to 250 and A is the number of additional pages.
b) 25 + 250*0.1 + 50*0.05
= $52.5
c) kshs 50 can print 250 pages
balance kshs 10 is extra therefore it is the cost to print extra pages. The extra pages are therefore 10/0.05 = 200 pages.
total pages to printed by $60 = 200+ 250 = 450 pages.
450 ans.

Let x be the number of pages

Let y be the total cost of the printing job
Assuming that there will be always atleast 250 pages
For the above printing order:-
1) We have to add 25$ processing fee
2) First 250 pages means = 250 @ $0.10 = 25$
3) Remaining pages are (x-250) @ $0.05 = (x-250) * $0.05
add all the above to get the total cost of printing job
y = 25 + 25 + (x-250) * 0.05
y = 50 + 0.05x -250 * 0.05
y = 50 - 12.5 + 0.05x
y = 37.5 + 0.05x ..................... Equation 1

If there are less than 250 pages then there will be another equation
1) We have to add 25$ processing fee
2) First x pages means = x @ $0.10 = 0.10x
add all the above to get the total cost of printing job

y = 0.10x + 25 ..................... Equation 2

b) to calculate cost of 300 pages we have to use the equation 1:-
y = 37.5 + 0.05x
y = 37.5 + 0.05 * 300
y = 37.5 + 15 = $ 52.50

c) y = 60$
37.5 + 0.05x = 60
0.05x = 60-37.5
0.05x = 22.5
x = 22.5/0.05
x = 450 pages
