after I watched a movie ( a bought one ) on my computer, this program called " P C Friendly " downloaded itself. I cannot accsess Yahhoo or any other sight. I cannot get online without going through this program, I cannot get to any links, I have no toolbars, can't get to favorites. I'm affraid to uninstall it because I'm affraid I won't be able to get to the net at all. What should I do ????????

Sounds like a serious embedded virus installed with the program. Suggest you go through the program and run "online scanner". Kaspersky Russia is rated # 1 in the world for virus detections. Perform the complete scan as Kaspersky server when scanning your entire system will kill the virus or viruses in real time. Scan can take upto two hours depending on how many running processes and how many program installed. Complete the scan and suggest you reboot after the virus is found.

I would uninstall it. If you have Windows ME or later, use System Restore to a point immediately before you installed the program.

sounds like a 'hikacking'..... could be a bear to eliminate.... try using the 'add/remove' from 'control panel' first; try restoring to an earlier time (system tools>system restore) or look for a remove scheme on the internet if it's REALLY dug into your system. 'symantec' website has detailed removal guides.

do this, go to start,all programs, accessories,system tools and system restore, and resotore your pc to time before you downloaded the program if you have questions im me on yahoo - misior86

I would just un install it.. also run a virus scan.
u run a firewall also? if not get zone alarm free.
probably best to scan your pc in safe mode (tap f8 on boot) .. with anti virus + spybot (again free)
and then fix the registry with ccleaner .. links follow
