set to be seen only by the ones at your network?

Do you know you have this option?

What are the advantages and disadvantages you can see in letting your questions and answers, at your profile, and/or your network open to public view, or closed only to those at your network?

Thank you for your answer, and have a wonderful week ahead! :)

P. S. Your questions and answers can still be seen by the public, even if your profile is set to private. They only can't be seen at your page, if you choose this option.

My yahoo profile is public same as my blogs .
I have noticed that quite a few yahoo 360 blogs are not open to public ." friends category" only.
I accept this decision from the users but i often ask myself if this choice is a reasonable one.
I ask myself , if the blogs are programed for friends only , then some confidentiel sharings are made on these blogs.
If this is the case , it would be sheer folly.
Who can say he can trust a yahoo " friend " 100%.Who can trust ME? 100%
We have never met each other and probably will never do.
I have seen on yahoo 360 all sorts of manipulators
[I am thinking of this auto- proclaim English Lord who died in a car accident .( death which was announced by his wife on his yahoo page ,a few hours after the accident..What a fantastic courage.To be on a yahoo 360 page 2or3 hours after the death of her husband.).after giving sordid details about his tongue cancer surgery.}
I am also thinking of this young girl (13 years old ???)who has been cutting herself 3/4 times a day for weeks who was locked in her room getting out only to receive corporal punishments from her stepfather and had enough time and body resistance to blog 2or3 times a day.)
I am also thinking of this so call " I.T.genious" by his 360 "friends" who did the worst thing someone can do in 360 or even in life that is to divulgate in public , private exchange of mails and chatting he had with someone with whom he was supposed to be a " friend ".This is the most disgusting behaviour i have ever seen .
SOME people here are dangerous and MANY people here are NAIVE.
If you take the risk to trust someone and share with this person , at least do it by private mailing .( try to lower the risks.)Even that , refur to my example above.
I will not end on such a pessimistic approach of Q&A and Yahoo 360.
There are people here who have brillant and thoughtful mind.
People who can and do give good and intelligent answers .People who ask interesting questions , questions which enable you to think about yourself , about your relations with your family , about your everydaylife.
These people are worth to meet , even if it's only by Q&A or blogs.
I thank them very much.

You can still read my profile, but I've set my Q&A to private. This is because I got e-mailed by some creep who went through all my answers looking for personal information and then confronted me with it. This ticked me off.

When I get over it, I will put it back to public. If anyone desperately wants to see my Q&A, they can e-mail me and I'll add them as a contact.

All my profiles are open to the public, I have no secrets to hide...
I also do not mind people contacting me, because I will either be friends with them or not...
Pretty simple...
I have found several folks I would have never known about by having an open profile and they are cool folks...

Well call me confuzzled n always in the dark!
I never knew there was that option!!

I guess an advantage would be for those who don't want anyone seeing their profile.

I have 360 closed to public though.

U have a gr8 week, too.

My profile is open to the public. I won't put anything out there, that I would not want someone to read.

If you tried to go to his profile page and you got the "oops" message--- he was suspended. If not, he's made his profile private.
