If the two sides of the equation use different units then this is possible.

If the right hand side means "5 cakes" and the left hand side means "2 lots of 5/4 of a cake plus 2 lots of 5/4 of a cake" then the left hand side equals "4 lots of 5/4 of a cake", which is "5 cakes", the same as the right hand side.

This would sound nicer if you had something like "2+2=8", as then the units on the left hand side could be cakes and the units on the right hand side could be halves of cakes - which is a bit more clear than fractions of cakes.

i dont think so but 1 + 1 could equal 11 OR window! <--u have to arrange the numbers and symbold in a certain way
