I was, but I opted not to. Crazy me, right! At the time all i wanted was a clean bill of divorce and custody of my child. That was 14 years ago and now I regret it. I've had 2 marriages since, short term ones, and still no alimony. I could never make a living as a money grubbing ho!

Alimony is a good thing for the children but I wouldn't think of it as revenge. I think the man or woman paying the alimony should be entitled to receipts. I think the person putting out the money has the right to have proof that the money is spent in the correct way. This also insures the best treatment of the children as well. If the other person argues that they shouldn't have to be babysat like that, then the person paying the alimony should remind him/her that he/she shouldn't have to have courts forcing him/her to do what he/she would have done voluntarily either. Fair is fair, right?

Well, figure out how much alimony you will get and any child support and add it all up for the number of years you will receive it to get a total amount.
Then, if he has a life insurance policy compare the pay amount of that to the pay amount of what you will receive the other way. That should tell you which will be more financially rewarding, although one is legal with low risk and the other is not.

No If i was he still wouldn't pay for it. We have to garnish his check for child support.

Remember this the best way to get to someone is get them in the wallet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did and he is paying now last time he will screw me over!!!!!!!!!!!
