Boredom and a feelings of meaninglessness are a normal part of the human experience. It's a shame people are so afraid of them and feel they need to fill up every minute with either productivity and entertainment or turn the person into a 'patient'. It's absolutely true what you say about other's reactions, 'go to church,' 'get a hobby', e.g. ., in other words, 'get over it, shut up, and don't remind us of our own emptiness!'.
If you can, at times, try to let the boredom and meaninglessness just exist as it is and be curious about it. The quality of it, in your body and in your mind. Is it heavy or light like you are afraid of floating away? Is in in your stomach or in your mind or all over? Is it tied to any particular thoughts or other feelings?
Then again, as others said, if it is very bothersome, extreme, and persistent and you are worried about it, maybe you could talk to a therapist. It depends on how long it's been going on, if it bothers you, if it interferes a lot with your life, etc.
Good luck!

Anyone born from 1984 on has come into the world and are know as Star seeds. You are so evolved that you came into this world to help it. The problem is, you get bored because you are so evolved. Many times children need choices.
The only thing I can tell you is to realize your gifts. Focus on those things like Art or Music, leadership for example because those things you realize are your gifts. After 19, you are all you were in previous life times and after that you will develope new and helpful potential attitudes and beliefs.
The only thing you can do with boredom is to ignore it and move on. Stay active and find something to do. You have the intelligence. The problem with boredom is that we allow ourselves to then have a pitty party. No good. Go do something , a walk, meditation, just go do. You are bored, how bored do you want to be?

Do you never want your family to recognize what you did with your life, like your legacy?
Your legacy to people who didn't know you and the way you try to improve your life and make something of it?
I don't think life is about finding the problems, it's doing the things that keep you interested, and maybe that will be going to church meeting new people or trying to improve and be better, but that's just me.

think of the last time you had a burst of energy.
a friend, a place, a movie, a book, music, a song, some kind of food, new clothes, or just a quiet afternoon by yourself or rest.
we all need to extract energy from our surrounding. Find that elusive source of energy, sap it and the you will forget about the boring times. Then you will spread the energy around. That is the cycle of energy - just do not give up.

there really isn't a point to anything we do. but we have to think optimistically!! but try something new, just DO something and work at it until you succeed. if you like music, try writing a song, if you like sports, push yourself to the limit.
there is meaning in stuff if you PUT the meaning there. you have to be determined to do something with a point...try helping the less fortunate. you'll see in their faces how much you've improved their quality of life...volunteer at a nursing home, a children's hospital, the midnight run organization, something like that. but if nothing works, you may want to talk to someone about it...depression is never fun, and your friends and family are behind you, but if you are depressed, don't let it get too far. someone out there loves you!!

I can give 2 answers to this
A: You are probably depressed and should see a therapist who can help shake you out of it. It takes more that just a hobby, do something radically different. Do something death defying, Go somewhere you never thought of going.
B: You are absolutely correct that there IS NO MEANING to anything we do. When you truly understand the implications of that... you are almost totally free. No life has any meaning so you are not the exception. Now what are you going to do with that knowledge?

Just a fleeting feeling. You'll get over it. Right now you are on the downswing of life. Soon enough, maybe in a couple of weeks, something good will happen to you and you'll be on the upswing. In other words, life is a roller coaster ride.

Change what you think about. Boredom is a state of mind that occurs when we lose interest in what exists in the environment and then return to the thinking state.
If you think about your situation, you are likely to nurture feelings of meaninglessness.
Dreaming is a state that emerges when what we have or what we are doing in the moment lacks interest, fun or happiness for us. Find something else that inspires you.

to but true it also happens to me. life cannot forever be full of adventure, fun and joy. everything that once attracts you does tend to become boring one day. its pretty natural and common so the first thing to understand is that nothing new is happening to you........
i overcome this boredom by dreaming, imagining and getting into all kinds of illusions.....
it may seem insane but it makes me fresh...... do try it...... go into a wonderland away from reality ... into a world of perfection and on getting back try seeking that perfection in your own life and trust me life would be amazing !!
