I don't pray just for results, I 'pray' as a form of meditation to clear my mind so that I can find a solution to the problem or just have serenity if it's something that's out of my hands.
Half the time it works out in my favor, I suppose.

I pray to know God's will for me so I can move in the right direction. I do not pray for dates or money or other things. If I pray for something specific, then I presume to know better than God what is best for me.
So the answer to your question is, "yes."
