i have model satellite 2435-S255. The connector from the power cord to the battery is old and toasted. i'm broke and don't want to pay to fix it. where can i find a cheap external charger?

"External battery chargers" may not be the best option.
Order a replacement power cord from Toshiba's web site. Do NOT use any other power cord.

The problem seems to be the connector for the power adapter. To repair that will require the motherboard be removed from the laptop. The money spent to repair the laptop would be better spent on a new one. BTW, don't forget to remove the hard drive from the Toshiba if you decide to get another laptop. You can put the old laptop in its' own enclosure and use it to back up your data from your new laptop.

try laptopparts.com or the manufacturers website( toshibausa.com). Toshiba parts are very expensive if you purchase from the manufacturer.
