If the Wizards hope to keep Gilbert Arenas past next season, they'll have to ante up.

The boy is attracted to money!!! There is no way in hell the wizards can sign arenas to a huuuuuuuuuge deal and expect to keep caron butler and antawn jamison

YEa right he wants to stay with the wizards in the eastern conference when there are tons of teams in the west capable of signing him with the deal he wants and still bring him a championship

Just business eh?

Arenas is a terrific player, and the Wizards should pay him whatever he want's, because there nothing without him. I've never been a Jamison fan, and Caron Butler is never going to be more then the second or third best player on whatever team he is on.
Arenas IS the face of the Wizards. Without him, it's lottery city.

He is from LA if I remember right.
I don't think he would mind playing in LA.
One problem is if Kobe is around they won't have
enough basketballs between the two off them since
the both like to take most of the shots.
I can see him with the Clippers however, they can
use his marketabiliy to draw a bigger crowd.
So I say Either Clippers or maybe Even Portland if
Oden is up there.

I have been a Bullets fan since they played in Baltimore. For what that's worth, for all of his offensive talent he is a chronic whiner who wouldn't know positional defense if it bit him on the butt. Ernie Grunfeld said today he wants to resign Gilbert. But if the two Russian big men that were drafted in the last two years can come in and show some toughness and rebounding ability, me thinks it will be time to say buh-bye to him.

arenas shake and bake and torch mister defense kobe for much points and overtime too so give me ball dammit but butler and jamison get numbers too with hibachi grillmaster chuck shots and look at me sells tickets so ante up and maybe get some rings in national capital with an air tent over house for denver and more red blood cells no smoking or burn down to ground like kareems so give him the ball

He deserves a max deal, it is just business, eh? Are you Canadian. Why should he show loyalty to the Wizards, he's from California

I believe he'll stay at the Wizards. He just wanted a maximum deal contract.

i have mixed feelings about how agent 0 went about this. i dont blame him for wanting to get out of washington. the wizards have no future, they need to trade the 2 good pieces they have and start over.

however, i dont think arenas should have said this now. mention it during the season. if i'm eddie jordan, i cant b too thrilled about having my star player walk in for practices in october, then having in the back of my mind "this guys going to be gone after this year"

personally, i'm glad he's leaving DC. i want to see how fat his next contract's going to be. early destinations: 76ers, magic, pacers, hornets, jazz, clippers, kings. i'd want to see him in utah or orlando.

Money could be the only reason, as far as I know. But he was in such a good situation before his injury. He dominated the ball, played the way he likes, they were winning games, so I dont know whyelse he would opt out. Its got to be $$$$$$
