This is my second day with a real cold, and I woke up this morning and voice is really scartch. I have to make a presentation tommorow. Does anyone have any advice on what to do to get my voice back/ about how long do you lose your voice for.

Along with everyone else's good advice, use a humidifier.

Gargle regularly with warm salt water & drink warm beverages. Warm, not hot, chicken noodle soup or just the broth will help soothe your throat as well. For a scratchy sore throat, try some Sucret losenges, as they coat your throat & make it feel better. Cepacol makes a throat spray that's very effective also. Resting your voice is best, so for today, talk very little, so a not to strain your vocal chords.

can't really say how long it takes to get your voice back. it depends on your cold and how quickly your body will heal itself. Drink lots of warm fluids (like hot tea with lemon or hot chocolate) because its soothing on your throat and will help relax it. Soup would also be a good idea. I would also get some cough drops so your throat won't get dry.

my grandpa always did this its gross but try it mix raw onion slices with some honey and let it sit then add some lemon and take a few spoonfulls yummy not
