Do you think the pill or IUD works fine w/o pulling out? I'm married and have an IUD my husband still thinks he needs to pull out as extra precaution. What do you think

I have had an IUD for 2 and half years and my husband has never pulled out since I started it and still no babies. BTW pulling out doesn't work at all, my three year old son is a pull out baby.

I have an IUD and my husband does too. I don't know. I think the the IUD is plenty. Plus pulling out doesn't work anyways. Thats how my daughter came about. )I wasn't using anything for BC) So I think men are just uneducated on the Pull out thing and the bc thing too.

IUD has a small percentage of failure rates but BC pills are supposed to be failsafe. And if he still wants, let him use condom instead of pulling out, depriving himself and you of pleasure. Also, though chances are less, preejaculatory secretions from penis can carry sperm and can make you pregnant.

As with any birth control, there is like a 1% chance of getting pregnant; however, it would not be absolutely necessary for him to "pull out."
