i have some ideas myself, although i might be quite negative overall. over 4 years, i have used the internet, groups, and places like myspace, and i become quite disillusioned most times, yet i know the internet community has fantastic potential. incredible potential in fact. i still keep on trying and trying. sometimes i dont even know what i am actually looking for....

Its something I dont understand! in the fact that I carnt see why people bother, why would I want to read about somebody elses hobbies? and are they so egotisical that they indeed do think we are interested.

I know what you mean somewhat. The internet has so many choices that it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. It's a potentially great way to connect with people who share your interests but it's sometimes hard to find exactly what you're looking for. I can't say much about the sites you mention but some of the more intellectual type blogs and internet boards can be rewarding. You have to let your interests lead the way.

You are looking for the "Light at the end of the Tunnel".
At the end of the "Tunnel" there is a "Light". Few people actually get close enough to be able establish that it is a neon sign. Still fewer get within range to be able to make out the message it bears. It says:
"So long as there is Hope there is a chance for a better Day"
Least ways that is what I like to think it would say.
Cheers, Ashleigh

MySpace is scary to me. I don't like the idea of sharing too much info with total strangers.

However, I enjoy freecycle because it is better to find someone who can use old items, instead of sending them to the landfill.

I have a friend who posts on MySpace and I worry about her safety.

Surely the Warning for all on Intenet is "DON'T BELIEVE anything!"Do we not know that many people who put their details on these websites are concealing their true selves for some ulterior purpose which may be just to have a laugh or it may be a middle aged adult paedophile pretending he is a child in order to lure gullible children to meet him and then be sexually abused.

What exactly has disillusioned you?
The overall stupidity of the human race?
You shouldn't have had to come to the internet to figure that out.
