What something is "worth" is a subjective question. It depends on people's feelings about the book and the author and the history of the book.

What something has been sold for is objective. Its a real transaction that is measurable.

I think that you would get more valuable information from actual recent sales than from someone's subjective opinion.

However, some of the books tend to be a bit overpriced, so don't expect to get a good price unless your books are in excellent condition.
If your books are first editions, or particularly rare you should manage a reasonable amount for them on ebay.
