Always half full and it's eternal optimism and hope that keeps
it replenished. Even when it starts to drain a little (metaphorically) I turn to a beautiful sunset or a sky full
of stars or an animal to cuddle and magically it fills itself
right up again. It's sort of like an Eternal Flalme that never
goes out. All about love. I've never had the opposite view.

I used to be a 'glass half-empty' kind of person. The reason I was this way is that I was too self-absorbed. My whole world was me; what was wrong with me, how sorry I felt for me because of all of the awful things poor me had to go through that no-one else did. The only advantage this had was that I was so self-absorbed and miserable that I had no friends, which might've saved money. But that's it.
After a pretty hard slap in the face one day, I finally realized my fatal flaw. Selfishness. It took me a pretty long while to crawl out of that hole (sometimes I still fall in it), but when I crawled out for the first time, I was amazed at the brightness of the ouside world. I began to see how infinitely blessed I really am. I saw how full my glass really was.
I'm an extremist. In many ways, I am either hot or cold, but never lukewarm. So my glass is either completely full or completely empty. If it's empty, it's because I drank everything. If it's full, it's because G-d saw that I was thirsty.

Right now I'm seeing it as half empty. I'm pregnant and on bed rest and cry all day because I can't enjoy my last few weeks without a child. Right now my husband is playing softball, so I'm alone again, like I am every day. This view offers me no advantages, but looking at it half full wouldn't either.

life is like the glass being half full but not as full as it should be that is why people are so greedy it is because they want the glass to be full to the top. The only problem is that some people are to greedy and fill the glass over the top and it spills.

i have recently thaught of a correct answer for.....is the glass half empty or half full..it is. If the glass is filled to half then its half full and if its eptied to half then its half empty there is no other ways to acheive a half full/empty glass so if ur using the glass as a statement to your life then if your life is improved compared to ""normal"" then its half full well this is my way around it ;)

Both viewpoints are two sides to the same coin. Both are attempts to resolve disappointment.
The optimist avoids disappointment for the here and now by hoping that the future holds something more -- an expectation.
The pessimist avoids future disappointment by reducing their expectations.
Disappointment, however, is when our expectations are out of alignment with reality.

I think that my designation of it is irrelevant. It just is.
I prefer to say there are about 4 ozs of water in the glass. if the glass were 3x as big, there would still be 4 oz of water. Why do I need more water just b/c the vessel is bigger?
