No, you can use RU-486 (a drug called mifepristone) to basically cause a miscarriage up until 49 days pregnant in the U.S. Your doctor can administer it and then check you later to make sure the process is complete.

The only legal, safe and proven method is the RU486 pill, if available where you live.

There are all sorts of old wives' tales about what you can do or take to cause an abortion. Most of this is not true - after all, if there were a convenient way to cause a miscarriage, it would be well know and well used.

Miscarriages happen for various reasons, and I'm sure over the years urban legends have grown up about what can work. Generally, anything that can cause a miscarriage can be just as dangerous to the mother. Before legal abortions, the "rusty coathanger wire" was a cliche. However, likely as not it resulted in infection and then death or sterilzation of the mother too.

In my parent's time in Britain, the cliche was that too much bicycling could cause a miscarriage. However, vigorous exercise is quite OK, and in fact I think it was Jane Fonda who wrote a book about jogging during pregnancy.

There is no injection or some kind of medicine that a woman can take and abort herself. Very dangerous if you try to abort yourself. You need to go to the doctor and explain why you want an abortion.

You can abort with the pill, but I would think long and hard before doing so, there are so many people that would love to have a baby but cannot so maybe you could consider adoption instead.

There are different options available including medicinal. Consult http://www.plannedparenthood.org/abortion/ for more info.

It is definitely a big decision to make, so try talking to someone about it if you can, such as close friends or family, or a family planning specialist. You will be able to find hotline information on Planned Parenthood's website.

abortion can be done up to 8 weeks by taking a pill called Ru-486. After that a D&C must be preformed.

You are gonna get alot of not so nice answers for even asking this question to be sure! But you are going to be the one who has to live with your decisions. A friend of mine just had one ( I really didnt agree with her ) and she had a injection she was around 5wks. I would advise if you are going to do this you should find some sort of support group.

shame on all of you who are passing judgement on this person!! first of all, no one ever mentioned tht its her thats even pregnant. second, this is a place to ansr questions, not pass along your personal judgements, and spew venom. abortion in the united states is legal, which means it is a womans choice to have it, or not have it as she sees fit, without ugly comments. if it is her who is pregnant, she needs support, not a sermon about how hideous shell feel after. in answr to the question. im not sure about the states, but in canada, the pill only is legal up to 1 month after conception. surgical abortion is legal up to 24 weeks. the longer you wait, the more complicated and unpleasent the procedure becomes.

See a doctor right away. The longer you wait, the more complicated the procedure. The medicine is for the first day or two. At one month you need a procedure
