In my early 20's I went through a wild drugged out state of mind. I cleaned up in the mid 20s and turned my life around and got married and my first child at 29. I would have done things differently at the beginning but would not change what happened to me at the end.

I got married when I was 20 and my life goals were to go to graduate school, buy a home, get into a career that I love and have children when we are in our late 20's. We've been married 5 years, I just got accepted into grad school, we are looking in to buying our first home and have no children yet- so our life is pretty much going as planned.

Ahhh yes, my 20’s. That’s when it all went wrong.
I moved out on my own, worked, and slowly went crazy.
Yes I had tons of plans, and many goals, and a bucket full of dreams to go along with them, but nothing ever came of any of them. Bad things came and took all of the possibilities away.
I could sit here all day and try to explain myself, and go over the long list of would’ve-could’ve-should’ves but it wouldn’t make any difference.
I will say that the biggest thing I should have done different, something that could have made all the difference, was when I moved out on my own to go a step further and cut all ties with my abusive “monster” (mother)
Ultimately I should have respected myself more and kicked all of the negative influences (people) in my life to the curb, and sought out those that would accept me for me and support me in the things I wanted to accomplish..

22 - Graduated from College and went to bars a lot.
23 - Got married and went to bars a lot.
26 - Started Grad School and went to bars a lot.
28 - Had a kid
29 - Finished Grad School
...my 20s were pretty normal. I traveled a lot and got to enjoy myself and my wife before we had kids, which I would highly recommend.
I always wanted to move away (from Wichita, KS) but never found it convenient to do so. In retrospect, I should have made the jump before I was tied down with a good job and a family.
Same with college, I wish I would have gone away for school instead of going to Wichita State. I had various opportunities but chose WSU because it was so convenient to live with my family instead of worrying about a dorm or something

if you dont have a plan by now your waisting some valuable time. you ever heard of retiring early. well the people who get to retire early are begining their careers in their 20's . to work for 30 years and collect a retirement it to begin as soon as possible and start saving for the future. so if you dont have a plan yet get on it. the partying can wait.

Wasn't sure what I wanted.
