I try as much as possible to be at least 5 minutes early to whatever I am going to. I used to be a person who had trouble getting to things on time and I realized that it's really a rude way to be. I would rather be known as the guy who is there too early than "that rude guy" who is always late.
No excuse that a person gives for being late is really impressive unless it involves direct intervention in a life and death situation and the people you were late to see can read about it in the newspaper the next day.

Because my time is more important than yours. I will not be kept waiting, so the best way to accomplish this is get you to a meeting place before me. I lie to you when I tell you 6:00 and I know I mean 6:10. (well... not me. I am a 5 to 10 minute early guy - always allowing for the unpredictable )

I get a rush pushing things off to the point where I am just barely on time. Seems like my better ideas sometimes come when under pressure too.
Used to be half an hour early all the time though.... Hmm. :)

This depends how late, half hour or less, is intriguing, mysterious, and leaves a person more excited when you do get there, because they are happy you made it. Longer is just rude!! unless of course there's a real good excuse, but a call would have been appreciated.

I am never late. The reason why most people are late is because they mess with the little things before they leave. "Oh, I should do these dishes before I leave." " I should throw a load of laundry in the washer." But one of the biggest reasons is "where the hell are my keys."

Because I am waiting for friends or family that are coming with me. If I were coming alone I would not be late.

My mama always told me that being late is like stealing. If you steal money, you can get it back. If you are late, you steal someone's time. You can never get back time.
