India emerged by fluke. People and individuals brought glory and Indians broght fame to the country. So long as such situation persists, Indian will emerge as global leader. It is one example of India's emergence as global leader without the support of politics and governance.

Because of economic growth, education and skilled manpower. If you look at China, their labour force is getting old and they don't have enough young people to replace them. India has a bigger and younger population that can carry the progress forward for a long time. Global business language is English. Indians have better command on it and are easier to understand than Chinese. That is the reason India is emerging as a global leader. Thanks to the NRI's who sent billions of dollars to help her from going broke in the 90's.

There are many reasons, some of them being:
1) The GDP crossed the psychological barrier of 1trillion US $ this led the world to start taking India seriously. and the GDP growth for the past decade has been nothing short of phenomenal. The GDP (PPP - Purchasing Power Parity) is more than 4trillion US$ and is ranked 4th in world
2) The FDIs have been pumping a lot of money in the market after the pseudo Socialist approach was discarded and privatization was encouraged.
3) A big pool of cheap, hardworking labor
4) Growth in IT industry
Having said that , the country can improve a lot in the infrastructure and power fields

Because their government has opened itself to free markets. It allows businesses to thrive by removing a lot of the red tape. Indians have a strong work ethic and want to make progress. Labor is cheap there compared to the US, the standard of living is lower, and there is a fraction of the expensive to comply regulations.
