No, you can't. You can hook it up to the Wii console but it will only work for the gamecube games. :)

With Wii games, NO, you cannot use a Gamecube controller. Instead of the Wiimote, though, you may want to try the Classic Controller (half the price of the Wiimote). It is very similar to the controller from the old NES systems. Gamecube controllers can only be used with Camecube games played on the Wii.

Generally no. However a few Wii games do support it, including the Dragon Ball Z game, and the upcoming Smash Brothers game.

For most Wii games, it's no, but with Brawl, you're supposed to be able to use the GC controller if you don't want to use the Wii-mote. That might have changed by now.
