Vegetarianism is actually a pretty new concept, except for some religions that forbid the eating of meat. Since the beginning of time humans have eaten animals. In the winter it was usually the only food they had. Also, animals have been used by humans for millenia for food and for work. If not most of our civilizations would not have come about.

The days of cows, chickens, sheep, and pigs being 'wild' animals is long gone. These animals were long ago domesticated for the sole purpose of being raised for food. No different than fields of grain, orchards of fruit, lakes of farm raised fish.

Humans are omnivores. In a natural (survivor) setting, you would happily eat anything that didn't eat you first. That's the way the natural food chain works. The only difference is that not everyone has to go out and literally catch their own food anymore, so it seems more cold blooded to those who aren't directly involved in supplying food. We also tend to eat more meat - which is highest in necessary protein - because of its easy availability.

sounds like have a problem with this. i think you stopped short on your oratory. what gives us the right to kill broccoli asparagus onions cherries plums ect-ect. my religious belief states what GOD put on this earth for me to use. including what animals can and what animals can't be consumed. your concern is a moot point if your are part of christianity. i don't care what you eat but what i care about is that peta and their ilk want to deny me my religious right to consume what my GOD is providing me with as nourishment for my boday and soul

Even the Bible says that eating meat is fine, as long as we do not drink the blood. I think most people enjoy eating meat, so, they do. It is not illegal, so most do not think of the animal who died in order to give people food to eat.

Nothing does. Atleast if we killed them in a humane way, but no. You think eating eggs is ok? Its not because they torture the chickens and cut their beaks off and stuff like that.
