My dh's nickname is "J". He'd like to name our son after him, in this round-about way. Neither of us cares for the name "Jason" (bad personal memories), and we have a close family member who already took "Jayden". Any other ideas? I'm fresh out.
The other option is to just name him "Jay", but I'd like a longer name to go with our long last name. Thanks for any help you can give.

Your DH's nickname is J and your name is Melissa (assuming that's your real name too). What about Jaymel (pronounced Jay-MELL)? The name Jaymel sounds very much like Jamile (Juh-MILE) the contestant on the first season of So You Think You Can Dance.

My son's real name is Jon Tyler and we were planning on calling him that - both names together like it was one name. Well, pretty soon we started calling him JT (don't know who started that!) and he is NEVER called Jon Tyler. Most of the time I just end up shortening it to "J", which, of course sounds like Jay, so my answer is: pick any of the names that simply start with the letter J and it'll work!
