Why is it that when we see beauty in something" people " , places, and things ,

And all of a sudden we see something ugly or distastefull .

it is all the more ugly because it comes from something beautiful.

that's simple enough.it affronts our senses and expectations of beauty.
We often have unreal expectations of beauty.
we expect beautiful people to be perfect in all aspects,its unrealistic ,but we are shocked just the same to find deep ugliness can come in pretty packages.
a picture that comes to mind for me is, I once saw this set of photos ,1. was of the most beautiful of butterfly's 2. was a mound of these butterfly's 3. was taken farther back so you could see that this mound of butterfly's were actually feeding on a putrefying,rotten corpse! these photos destroyed forever my illusion of these perfect little flower suckling creatures.

The degree or amount of ugly that we find is determined through our beliefs. The more you consider "disgusting" the more you will find beauty ruined. The more dislike or aversion that a person has, the more beauty will be affected.

It's the dichotomy and surprise. Ugly is expected from ugly, but not from beautiful. So, by comparison, it seems so much uglier.
