When you "cleaned the carb you didn't get the jets cleaned out. The carb should be soaked in a good parts cleaner and blown out with compressed air. Most of the time anything short of that is not good enough.

Before you take apart the carburetor, try replacing the air filter. A clogged air filter will make it run too rich and it will smoke and stall just like you described. Also, there is a chance that there is something in your gas tank that is blocking the flow of gas to the carburetor. Try to remove the gas line from the carburetor, drain the tank and re-fill with clean gas. If that fails, then do like Boomer says and clean the carburetor bowl. Good luck and God Bless!! Steve

Get the gunk out of the gas tank and clean the air filter. Or go back in the house and take a nap --let dad worry about the lawn mowing chore Take it to the repair shop--you do not know what you are doin..

Unless you totally dismantled the carb and cleaned it by soaking in carb cleaner, it is not clean. Sounds like it is not clean. Maybe you should let a pro do it.
