Do you know anything about the crusades in the Holy Land. The reason the crusades started in this area was because the Seljuqs (Turks) took control of the Holy Land, specifically Jerusalem from the Fatmids (Arabs). Both muslims but the Seljuqs banned Christian pilgrimages to Jerusalem. That's the main reason the crusades in the middle east begun. However this was probably just an excuse for the Catholic Church to expand its power in Europe as historian Thomas Asbridge writes. The Byzantium Empire, non-Catholic Christians were seen as a threat too and a Catholic nation in the Holy Land could help combat the Byzantium Empire. The "terrorists" you speak of at the time of the first crusade was limited to Al-Andalus, modern day Andulacia in Spain and Arab power in Europe had been declining by this point. There were certainly pirates in the Mediterranean but there were just as many Christian ones as Islamic ones. Europe wasn't united as you state, most nations didn't take part in the first crusade with only the Franks, Bohemians and some Flemish and Normans taking part. The vast majority of Europe wasn't "united" as you say, in fact at this point most of Eastern and Northern Europe were still pagans. Europe wouldn't be Muslim today because Caliphate was already in serious decline as I mentioned earlier and Muslims weren't a united force. So liberals don't have to admit anything..

Our government is out of touch but only because so many people in this country have forgotten that this country was started was to keep government out of your life that's why the founding fathers came to the new world to escape this. now as a super power built on the belief of freedom but you can not drive a car without wearing a seat belt, or smoke a cig in an open air park. now we want to force what we do on Iraq who made us or the U.S.A. the way it should be. maybe just maybe not all people want to be American. For things to change for this country, to heel, we need a real person to lead the decisions of this country people need no longer identify on party lines both demarcates and republicans once they reach positions of power they go with the people who paid to put them there. The common man no longer has a chance because the old money is happy with things just the way it is. Even on most questions I reed here it is a fight instead of a brainstorm. If one thing I’ve learned in life is you can never have too much information and the more you plan the more likely you are to succeed. There is always an option but most of the time people rather recite what they hear rather than try to figure out why they think that way. If you take a differing belief as an attack on what you believe you are scared that you may be wrong.

lol i am a muslim and i laugh at you. first of all there is nothing more conservative then a muslim. second of all chrisitans and jews are the religious extremeists. remember it was christians who gassed 6 million jews. instead of the christians giving up their land to the jews they went over the palestine took their land and just gave it away to the jews. hense the whole fight between america, britian verses the "muslims" in the end it is the christians and jews who are the real religious extremeists. why are jews there in the first place???? it is because the CHRISTIANS say that it is the JEWISH homeland. jew is not a race it is a religion. and by the way mr. ultra conservative. i would look at how the jews treat the CHRISTIAN arabs who have inhabbited palestine for the last 2,000 years. they beat, and kill your fellow christians. how very religiously extremeist of you guys. the truth hurts and you sound so ignorant you choose to folow a brain dead ex cocaine addict just like a good little sheep. yes god bless america the land of my forefathers but god curse all the wicked.

Liberals are quite willing to manipulate the laws, but only if it's their idea. Liberals won't accept that others have ideas. Didn't you know that liberals are attempting to give policy to God, since in their opinion, God has mucked up the universe? To them, only liberals have ideas worth listening to. If Jesus came back and said he was a conservative, all liberals would go to hell happily

Liberals don't usually have kids. This is why there aren't as many of them as they'd like everyone to believe. The hippies of the 60's are in their 60's. Liberals are going extinct.

Just how many rights are you willing to give up? To me it's contradictory. Give up all your rights to be free? The founding fathers would be appalled.

Funny you should use the word crusade................

And if we're willing to sacrifice our freedoms for any reason, we've already lost.

if the terrorists win if they take our freedom away, do they still get to claim victory if we take our own freedoms away or is it a draw?
