Being that I am single, meaning only one income, and that only 3 of 7 nephews aren*t married with families of their own this year I thought that I*d do something different this year and *homemake* their gifts. Make quilts for their little ones(ranging from newborns to 18 month olds),and a small toy, gowns for females, and a bottle of perfume, and pj*s for the guys, and a bottle of cologne. For my children and spouses a handsewn quilt, and a jewelry item.(Avon..easiest way to go..no crowds to fight and price is reasonable..)
My biggest challange is my 21/2 yr.old granddaughter. Mentally she is above her age...but her dwarfism prevents her from so much physically. She isn*t tall enough yet to ride even the 10in. tricycle, and most children have one of this for their first birthday. Then I have 18 mon. grandson, and my parents. That*s the family side, then there is my b/f, his father, and gifts for work. Yes I have started already. Buying the material and patterns, threads, and even ordering from avon. I am the type person who likes to give a personal touch to my gifts thus the reason for so many made at home. Last year my daughter in law made me a *dream catcher*, and one yr. my nephew made me a cast iron horse rearer up on it*s hind legs in one of his school classes, and I cherich these gifts over all others.

Are you kidding, I don't even think about Christmas shopping until around 15 Dec. Then it is the old WWW. I would rather have a root canal done with no meds than fight the Christmas crowds at the stores. I do like the Dollar Store (US equivalent) idea though...me being fairly cheap and all.

Yes I've booked my annual winter holiday in Sharm el Sheikh.
It will be the third Christmas I've spent down there and with temperatures averaging 26 degrees centigrade in Upper Egypt at that time of year it beats freezing to death in miserable old blighty!

Started in January when the sales were on. From then I try and buy something every month. But I still end up rushing around the week before as I have forgotten something or lost something.

People think I'm nuts because I shop year round for Christmas, birthdays and other holidays. I am all set and finished while they are running around like idiots, trying to get everything done.

No, not just yet! Normally start buying things around November, but have been known to buy wrapping paper and cards in October!
Have you?
