No!

Any judge who makes a decision like what you're suggesting should be removed from the bench.

Any sheriff who lets a girl out of jail for crying too much (like in the Hilton case) should be removed as well, and I think he should be in this case.

Any governor or president who pardons a criminal like this shouldn't be elected either.

Luckily, in the Paris Hilton case, the governor and judge basically couldn't care less who Paris Hilton is, the sheriff did let her out rather early, and with a BS excuse. I'd cry really hard if I got thrown in jail, too. Especially if I grew up in fancy hotels.

The double standard in this country isn't about poltics or doing the right thing though, it's about cold hard cash. Unfortunately, so are our companies, our government, our wars, our people, so if we want a reckless, laissez-faire, capitalist system, we have to realize that one side affect it that eventually, money can buy anything:

Power, freedom, nuclear weapons, votes, presidencies, land, influence, revenge, murder, drugs, anything...

And for the right price, people get away with much worse than drunk driving every day.

I think there is a double standard. Money and power influence decisions, better lawyers, and judges don't to be responsible for sending a famous person to live with "real" criminals

It is crazy for one to think that one is above the law! At the end of the day, one has to fall back as has already happened in the case you have in mind!

I don't agree that their is a double standard, simply more information is paid to celebs.

No! They should be treated equally under the law, regardless of fame and fortune.
