To be a poet you have to be seduced by words.Personaly i would rather try seducing birds, but your friend is a different matter, why not help her when you stop for a natter, your brain is very furtile and green ,in fact its one of the best i,ve seen,so seat yourselves comfortably on your car bonnet, and i am sure that you both could come up with a sonnet

Don't see why not,
Poets are a funny lot,
They tend to be quite emotional,
And demand you listen on the spot.

What day shall she become a poet?
This Kay down the way,
Success don't come easy,
Tell her to get started straight away!
...........................
I couldn't help it, you provoked me lol

No. A poem must be original and interesting to be good. For example, this is NOT an original and interesting poem: The cat and the rat sat on the mat. This is an interesting poem:
Never the nightingale,
Oh, my dear,
Never again the lark
Thou wilt hear;
Though dusk and the morning still
Tap at thy window-sill,
Though ever love call and call
Thou wilt not hear at all,
My dear, my dear.

So you see, one cannot simply call themself a poet because they can write a poem that shows no talent and originality.

Only if Kay writes well she'll stay, and someday, be on her way, to fortune and fame, writing in her usually poetic way.
