I'm in the process of buying a new car, and wondering if there are more benefits from Aluminum tire rims over Steel. Aluminum wheels cost more, but you'd think that steel would last longer. Are Aluminum wheels just for looks?

Steel rims are stronger and will endure more abuse and curb scrapes. Aluminum rims are lighter and give the car a better ride due to less unsprung weight, but they require more maintenance and are easier damaged.

I guess the final decision is up to you.

Steel rusts....The nicer wheels are aluminum alloys. Go with the aluminum

If you got money to waste get the aluminum. Practicality is the steel wheels.

Aluminium are nicer and lighter, but if you live in Mexico, it is a bit dangerous because of the roads, they could even break if they crash in a big hole. Steel are cheaper, ugly and heavier. I supouse that you live in the USA or Canada, so you can go for the aluminium.

Answer my question, please.

You got it they are mostly for looks and flash. More expensive when it comes to having tires replace so on so forth. Steel is cheaper and more durable.
Good luck on your choice
