How do you store yours for easy reference? Artist . Genre, Title? and in what? flip style, book, stack. shelves.

Try alphabetically by Artist, then the albums alphabetically. Then put them on shelves left to right with the front label facing to the right like books. That's the easiest I think. It's a lot better than stack so if you ever take one out and it's in the middle, you won't have to deal with all those others on top that might just topple over when you pull out.

I use shelves, because I like to keep the cases... Not very space efficient, but makes looking for titles much easier!

I also prefer to sort them by artist. If I'm looking to do anything more complicated than look for something based on artist or album, that's why I have everything encoded into MP3s as well. My mp3 player is very good at that kind of thing.

I don't have that many. It doesn't take long to look through the whole pile on the floor. If you need a means of cataloging, then I suggest that you pick something useful to you. Consider what you listen to most often. Use that as a parameter. Then consider other things. If all else fails, you can just pick a handful and listen to them.

I store them in shelves with my favorite ones at the top.

I just have the CDs with songs. No real order.
