You will only get the 10 points if you give me an American League team and explain why they are the best.

*Hint: You have a good chance of getting the points if you explain why my team, the LA Angels, are the best.

al right lets start with the angels outfield.
Gary Mathews Jr. he is an unbelievable centerfilder. he tracks don evey ball and knows exactly where to go with the ball. he is also a strong asset at the plate batting 283 with a couplweof triples and 8 homers.

Vladimir Guerrero- possibly the strongest arm i have ever seen. he guns down runners like crazy! he alkso delivers as a power hitter with 12 homers, he has decebt speed and is hitting a freakin .341! best hitter in baseball right now.

Reggie willits is a fast runner who has 16 stolen bases and is hitting a hearty .321

on to the infield- Kotchman is playing a pretty steady first base and with his 7 homers is contributing in agood way to the ball club. he is also a .323 hitter.

Orlando cabrera- hitting .333 and leads the team in hits. he is also a good fielding shortstop who makes the plays.

at third base Chone Figgins is a good layer who contributes. he is hitting a respectable .254 and tears up the basepaths when he gets on. he is also a smart player at third.

theres not much to say about Erick Aybar. he is okay at second and with practice he could raise that batting average up a decent amount.

behind the palte Napoli does a good job with a .986 fielding average and 7 runners thrown out. he hits .265 but his slugging average is an eyepopping .500.

on the mound the oitchers have been doing a good job.
John Lackey is really heating up with 9 wins and a .260 era.

Escobar is really doing a good job with 7 wins and .273 era.

Weaver and colon have also ben steady and in the bullpen Saunders is 3-0.
the bench players have really been fulfilling their roles and hitting and fielding well.
there you have it. thats why the LA angels are the best AL team (i think so to). i think i did a good job considering my favorite team is in the NL east and I just described the whole angels team from the AL west. hope you enjoyed!

The best American League team is the Cleveland Indians. A team needs good pitching and good hitting and so far the Indians are doing well in both categories.
Right now the Indians are being led by Grady Sizemore, Travis Hafner, Victor Martinez, and Jhonny Peralta. They have 4 really hot hitters and all are capable or producing at any point in the season. These guys have one of the strongest lineups in the majors.
For pitching, no one is hotter right now than C.C. Sabathia and Fausto Carmona. Those 2 guys are lighting the world on fire. Paul Byrd, probably their third best starter right now is 6-2 with a 3.80 ERA...that's nice for a team's third best starter. Their bullpen is doing well as well. Betancourt, Fultz, and Cabrera are all doing well as middle relievers and Joe Borowski, while he's struggled in his career, is converting saves now and already has 18.
This team is playing well and an easy choice to win the ALCS in October.

My guess is they will win it over the Oakland Athletics. Oakland would be a nice choice too because their pitching is the BEST in baseball right now and they've had a few nice, hot hitters as well. But I'm sticking with Cleveland cause as a White Sox fan, I've seen them beat on us a lot.

i say a combination of the indians and red sox.....now the angels are a good team...i'd consider myself an angels fan since they continue to pound the yankees....

the one thing about the indians is that most of those starters weren't doing well in years past....fausto carmona was a reliever last year and my red sox had his number continually in the bullpen....sabathia was strong but not very effective...and byrd was pretty much flailing around the mound trying to get one over the plate...i'm not sure how they are all doing great but i believe they also have the best HOME RECORD in the mlb

the sox have the best record in the mlb so far...and that's after losing 6 of 7 (before winning these past 3 in a row) and that most of this season (until yesterday) jd drew was in a slump....manny in a bit of a slump...big papi in a HR slump...and hinske and pena were overall useless...now ortiz is hitting HR's...drew is making contact and scoring rbi's (7 RBI's against arizona friday and 3 hits yesterday) and although lowell and youkilis are slowing down (still not bad) drew is stepping up and manny and ortiz are beginning to hit better

although the yanks have won 5 in a row....that isn't too hard when you're playing the white sox (who have lost 8 of their last 10) and the pirates (who are 26-36 and lost 7 of their last 10) while the sox played oakland (who won 8 of their last 10) and arizona (both on the road and arizona won 6 of it's last 10, but is 36-27)

the sox have a much harder schedule than the yankees...the yankees have a very easy june..and when the yanks play arizona they get them at home....while we're in the desert playing them...the sox can't catch a break

Boston Red Sox...they have one of the best starting rotations in the league (I would say 2nd best behind the A's) and by far the best bullpen which is huge in winning lots of games. They also have one of (if not) the best closers in all of baseball. Add that to an offense that includes Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz and you can see why they have the best record in baseball. They are never out of a game no matter what the score is until the last out is recorded...and that is why they are the best in the A.L.!

In the NL, the Cardinals will come back and win the World Series.

In the AL, one can't look past the Boston Red Sox or the Oakland Athletics.

Sorry dude, your LA Angels of Anaheim will fall apart. All they have is hitting and a relief pitcher.

Right now its the Red Sox. They have the best pitching in baseball. Schilling,Beckett,dice-k is the best 1,2,3 in baseball. Tehy also have a good bullpen and a great closer. They have been scoring runs too without major players in their lineup playing well . JD Drew,Manny even Papi hasn't been great so they will only get better. Right now they are hands down the best in baseball

definitely the angels. for one i have much respect bcause they are kickint my cards @$$. and second theyre lineup is just unbearable. i mean chone figgins gan get on with hit speed then u got orlando cabrera with his speed and then vlad who can hit a ball bouncing in the freakin dirt. and hes got a cannon for an arm in the feild. gary matthews with great defense and a great bat. even with vlad and gary matthews being 0-4 and 0-6 last night chone figgins went 4 - 6 and others sepped up and scored 9 runs. bottom line is angels are best

well...the angels are good, but i think that boston is the best team in the AL..and it has nothing to do with the fact that i am a huge boston fan ;) they have outstanding pitching and although manny's a jerk, they know how to win games. they're more intelligent than, let's say, the yankees, who shelled out 28 mil because of their desperation...and if the rocket busts?? boston is careful about their selection, and puts their money to good use...look at okajima compared to kei igawa. who would you rather have pitching?? also...you cannnot forget the fact that boston has ortiz. and the combination of ortiz and ramirez is one of the deadliest in the MLB, and jason Varitek is one of the greatest cathers in the game.

honestly i think my Yankees are the best. they had alot of injuries in pitchers to overcome in the beginning. they set historical records with starting some many rookies within the first month or something. they are starting to pick it up and play alot better.

the best team record wise is the bosox and the yanks could have easily beaten them. within most of the games the yanks had the lead deep into the game but since the picthing was so bad.

the angels scare me more than the bosox do. the last couple of years they have had the yanks number.
