I've never heard of a bee that attacks for NO reason but the Africanized honeybee comes close. From your point of view you're just walking along minding your own business but from the bees' point of view you're a threat to the hive! From there they come streaming out of the hive and sting in numbers. They tend to defend an area about 1/4 mile in front of the hive so you probably won't even see the hive. temperment in animals are diffrent every time. some may not sting you at all others will just because you are alive and bigger then thry. but no the closest you'd get is afracanized bees and only the ones deployed that don't need to be if a thret comes by

Beware the African Killer Bee. Go near the nest and they attack in droves and they can follow you up to a mile. The ordinary honeybee won't bother you if you don't bother it. It will attack (sting) you only if it feels threatened by you.
