There are a few rust stains on the outside of my my window cill where metal objects have been placed and not removed for a while.
Could any body advise me how to remove these stains please.

Jiff or Ciff as it is now known is good. You could also try a very very gentle plastic scouring pad if the Jiff doesn't shift it.

theres a cleaner that is specifically for upvc windows its known in the trade as type 20 there is a weaker product does just the same effect its just standard upvc cleaner which can be used on white plastic furniture. u can get it from b & q or hardware stores like robert dyas. just dont let it near sealant as it can melt this.

If your stains are really stubborn,you can buy a specialist upvc cleaner from any diy store , but make sure you use it in a well ventilated area as its really powerfull, in fact it will blow ya head off lol

try bleach or rub very very gently with a brillo pad, then rinse. Did you know you can spray them with car damp spray to protect them from stains.

mix bicarb into a paste wipe it on then leave it rinse later
