LOL
The problem is that you're trying way too hard. Just relax and let your creative juices flow. Let your imagination have a hayday--and don't try to limit yourself.
Just think about what you want to write and don't worry about whether or not your younger sister finds it. (That's a lost cause. Trust me: I have 2 brothers.)
Play some music to get you into the mood of writing. It always works for me.

Just start writing. Put down words on the piece of paper. They don't have to be sentences. As a word pops into your head write it down.
Once you have a dozen or more words, see if you can make a poem or story about them.
Don't worry if your sister sees it. If you want to be a writer you need to get used to critics. Maybe you can even share it with her first, to diffuse the situation.
Scrapbooks are great, too. You can even combine your writing with photos, headlines cut out of the newspaper.
Get some gel pens in different colors, sometimes they spark your creativity.
The point is: if you want to write, write. That's how all the great authors got started. Now get off the computer and begin jotting down a few words. Or, pull out some old magazines and newspapers and begin clipping.
If you ever need help, please feel free to email me. I've been writing since I was seven and I'm 56 now. It's a great life.

Go back to the old writing technique... Brainstorming! Start by writing (in a different notebook) about anything, what you plan on doing today or what your plans are for the week or what the weather is like and just keep writing for 10 minutes without stopping and see where it takes you. It might give you a good idea about what to write in your purple notebook!

Well, my answer is basically like most others. I had a younger brother and sister, and I didn't want them using what I wrote down agaisnt me later in life, or to embarress or humilate me.
I used my book (which was pink and purple and had this really cool little poem about possibilities on the front of it) as a writing journal. Every day for about 10 minutes a day, I would free write in this book. Some days it was about a story idea I'd been tossing about in my head, other days when I couldn't think of what to write, I'd write about what was going on around me. Sounds, sights, smells and touch.
When my lil bro and sis finally did get ahold of it, they were so confussed with it they didn' t know what to do with it. Just chalked it up as thier crazy sister trying to write more stories and left it and me alone. :-)

Begin by writing something simple, like your schedule for the day. This will get you started. Then, write down a homework assignment, just the assignment, not the answer. Then describe how you FEEL about the assignment. Do this with other events in your life. Write down your plans for the future. If your plans are undecided, write something like, "I'm not sure what I want to do after I graduate from school, but I like to (play sports, play a musical instrument, do hair, etc.).
The important thing is to WRITE every day, even if it's a sentence or two. Soon, this will become a habit and your ideas will surface and your writing will improve. In the beginning, just write, don't worry about spelling or grammar. After all, it's for you, not for school or publication. Writing every day is like exercising, the more you do it the better you get at doing it. Good luck to you.

How about keeping a journal. When you feel the need to write, open your book and put down whatever thoughts come into your head. It is great fun, especially when you look back on it in a few years time.
Or you can write a fantasy story, and with every new page bring in a new character, or take an old character out.
Good luck.

Write down your feelings and thoughts - you just did that in your question and it was really interesting to read! Other things you could write about - why would your younger sister show the book to her friends? why are you a puppy mad princess? why does your brain always go out of gear? why do you need this book? why do you need to keep it secret from the rest of the world? why is that important?....good luck.

I recently read the suggestion never to buy pretty notebooks because you'll be too afraid to write in them.
Fill it with the same thing you'd fill a crappy notebook with. The same thing you'd write on Post Its or restaurant napkins or the backs of envelopes. Anything and everything.

hi why dont you write a mood diary, have daily enteries on how you feel and what made you feel that way on that day if it was a happy day or a sad day you can reflect on how your mood was.
If it was a happy day you could write what made you so happy and then read it when your sad.If it was a sad day you could write how you could improve your mood the next time something makes you sad!

I think it would be great to write down your dreams. You could write down what you dream about and then what you think about them.
