Your Rose of Sharon shrubs, assuming you mean Hibiscus syriacus, as Rose of Sharon is a Northeast US term, have one or more of the following nutrient deficiencies. Nitrogen (N), Iron, (Fe), Manganese (Mn), or Calcium, (Ca).

First, work a half bag of composted manure or equivalent into the soil around each shrub. Create a berm approximately 12-16 inches out from the shrubs trunk and 4-6 inches high. This basin will contain the nutrient rich water you'll be adding to each shrub.

Second, the fastest way to bring back the color is to use a water soluble product like Miracle Gro every two weeks until the color comes back. It contains, macro, micro and trace nutrients. Add some liquid lime if available in your area to provide the Cacium as this plant likes "sweet" soils. If liquid lime is not available, use a garden lime where 50% or more passes a 200 mesh sieve. (www.Espoma.com makes one, I'm sure there are others. READ the label.)

Last, use Plant Tone or Flower Tone from Espoma (www.Espoma.com). This has approximately the same makeup as Miracle Gro, but the majority is water insoluble, meaning it will feed over an extended time as it needs micro organisms to break it down and make it available to the plant. Go their website to find a retailer near you, or substitute brands as necessary.

Sounds like you are watering them too much or there is not enough nitrogen in the soil . always use potting mix and mix in with your soil . the plant will let you know when to water the leaves will start drooping and therefore they want water . good luck .
