It has to be Notre Dame. Miami is only hated because they take a bunch of thugs who have no right to be on a college campus, and pretend to have educational integrity... Notre Dame is most hated because of it's long-standing greatness. (Which has tapered off in the last 10 years, but over the long haul, they've had their choice of player from every state)

Well, I'm an Iowa fan, born and bred, (yeah, I know) so I can find lots of teams that I don't like but if someone asks me my favorite team I usually say my Hawkeyes and whoever is playing Notre Dame. ND is usually rated real high and expected to be a national championship contender and nearly always disappoints, even though half their schedule is made up of the Little Sisters of the Poor. They have nearly unlimited access to the very best high school players in the country and nearly always underperform, then whine how tough their schedule is. So I think that ND is the most despised team in college football. For me, Minnesota is a very distant second. (Here in Hawkeyeland nothing is better than beating Minnesota.)

Notre Dame is probably the most loved AND the most hated nationally. Miami is mostly hated by everyone.
As an ND fan I hate USC, Michigan, Miami and Boston College the most, in that order -- but at least I have respect for USC and Michigan. Pete Carroll has done a great job at 'SC.
As a fan of college football in general I hate any team that is being coached by Nick Saban.

I'd say Miami is more hated than Notre Dame...not just cause I LOVE ND...but Miami takes thugs that wouldn't have a prayer of getting into ND...and its true that some people probably can't stand ND because of the attention it gets...but there is no denying they have the best tradition of winning and legends in college football history...

I hate all the people who assume that all of Miami's players are thugs and gangsters. Miami will always be the most hated team because of what has happened in the past. Just cause some guy has gold teeth in his mouth and dreds in his hair, i guess that makes him a thug? The FIU fight...if i recall right was started by FIU. So if any of these other "so-called" respectable schools would have been in the same situation...they would have done the same thing.
Bottom line is Miami is hated because they are good, and always have been good, and people are jeolous. The funny thing is...Miami fans like me LOVE the fact that everyone hates us....makes us feel good.

i hate ohio state the most, but im a michigan fan. i also hate notre dame (not only because of the um rivalry). they are overrated every year and they always get all the hype. they have a soft schedule every year so they almost always make it to a bcs bowl game. i don't like how miami runs their program, but notre dame is worse. i also hate florida. many people on their team had off the field issues that were never talked about because of their success on the football field. i hate urban cryer.

The irony is the most hated is probably the most loved. I'd probably go with Notre Dame too. Though I personally don't hate them. I actually don't hate any college team.
