In my opinion, when illegal immigrants come to this country, take jobs in this country that Americans can do, live off of money from our government that hard working Americans pay taxes for, and live in homes that Americans and American families that are homeless or on the verge of being homeless would love to have but cant because the immigrants are probably getting for free or nearly free. I think its unfair. This is America and those of us that were born here or those that came here legally should be able to use the services first not some illegal immigrant.

Legal immigration is okay but illegal immigration is not okay. I've worked at those jobs the politicians say Americans will not work at and was happy to have the job.
Politicians only work for the big business vote and want low wages because Republicans want low wages for the common worker.
Democrates only want the welfare vote and the more people on welfare the more people they control by the dole.
We need truly representative democracy where only voters have a say in what politicians can do and not special interest.

I think the fact that the 2nd and 3rd poster immediately jumped to illegal immigration as opposed to just immigration which is what you asked says a lot about how the debate is going to go.
People are barely going to listen to the question, let alone be able to debate the topic on its merits.

Just my opinion. I don't think illegal immigrants should be aloud in this country. Most I've come into contact with don't speak English and if we went to there country they wouldn't make an effort to help us. We can't go into there countries and get free health care, money and a place to live. I really think our government is being unfair to America by making us pay for them to come here and live. When I lived in California I couldn't get a job at a 7 eleven because I was a white woman so that tells me that they got a free handout some where and they are raciest.

I don't think giving amnesty to illegal immigrants is fair because amnesty is not fair to the thousands of other immigrants who came to this country legally and did everything they could to earn citizenship.

well by what I know i think that as long as immigrants aren't terrorists then they should be left alone. people where once encouraged to come. then again I'm only 12!

I view it that charity begins at home, then your family, friends, and community. After that if we still have enough money left, we should help others.

i think that it should be limited on the number of immigrants that come here. i think illegal immigrants should not be eligible for government programs(welfare, foodstamps, etc). i think it is b.s. when mexicans come across the border and have their babies over here(making them us citizens) and get welfare. i think they need to be required to learn english before being granted citizenship. i don't think spanish should be as predominent as it is. i
