Has anyone moved from the NorthEast to Florida? How do you like it?

I moved from Long Island NY to Boyton Beach Florida years ago.
I loved it, but not the humidity and it's pesky little bugs!
Most of the time we had to stay indoors because it was so hot down there.
I did leave FL, and moved to NC.
The other reason was because the threat of hurricanes and I didn't want to loose my home.
