Okay, I am going to outline my questions clearly so there is no confusion as to asking a "non-question"
1) Has anybody had verbal abuse from two certain trolls who have made quite a big stir recently?
2) If so, could I please have a link to the offending question/answer?
3) Has anybody reported abuse for these problems?
4) Do you believe these trolls should stop?
I have not included their names, because I have been accused of instigating a witchunt. I would like to know the answers because I am trying to see exactly what I have done wrong in wanting these users to quit being unkind.
This is neither picking on specific person/s nor asking a non-question. I want to see how far-spread this problem has gone.

Could anyone who has not been blocked by these trolls please tell me what is going on. They have blocked me but in the recent past spread untruths so could anyone that knows what is said let me know in your answer? Thanks!

The verbal abuse I have had is being called an "evil evil person" being told I am an unfit parent... I don't even have kids!

Busy bee: Which troll said this? Just give me the first intial, I'll know who it is. I am on the verge of contacting Yahoo! and making a formal complaint. Does anyone have the contact details? I know I shouldn't get upset, but it is really annoying me now.

If someone you know like a partner, husband, child etc has a Yahoo account then simply log in with their details [or let them log in ] and you can see the posts which are presently blocked to you... There has been no mention of you [my brother checked..LOL].
Seriously I would not worry... if they have anything worth saying.. it is not worth listening to.... If you check most have set up their accounts in May or June 2007.. so I know they are duplicate accounts....
Just block them all. The best way to go find them is to go to Dave S's questions and posts and all the people that insult him are usually the ones you need to block. Problem sorted..!

My definition of abuse is someone who answers a question with the sole intention of abusing the questioner. The level of abuse has escalated to the extent that all kinds of accusations are hurled without the slightest knowledge. These people should be blocked because they add nothing to the debate and have caused alarm and distress to people who have an opposing point of view. They should be pleased with themselves about that but they never give up. That is the real definition of troll, however much they like to accuse those who disagree with them, trolls.

Not reported myself [will do from today ]but I have seen supporters of the McCanns abusing other people lots of times. In fact some of them are even emailing some of the posters who are against the McCanns an threatening these peoples' childrens. I know who you are talking about. Anyway I saw the abuse and posted a question observing particular characteristics about some of the trolls...
I'm not a troll btw [LOl] I have had this account for a while now.. I just don't post all the time...
I saw all the vile putrid rubbish coming from a lot of the supporters so said something about it...

"Report abuse" after each answer means just that. Your identity is not revealed, so you won't ever have a problem. The Yahoo Answer Team is currently working on this. We should not tolerate verbal abuse in any form. Yahoo will investigate your report and make a determination.

but what exactly is verbal abuse?
is telling a child "do your own homework constitue verbal abuse?"
and are those kids not abusing yahoo answers to get people TO DO HOMEWORK for them?
i was reported for violation for telling kids to do their homework. That is unfair.
EDIT: when you are sent with violation notice, there is a link you can click on called customer care and you can complain to them.

I've had violation notices for perfectly reasonable unoffensive answers. But I've never reported anyone. I believe in differences of opinion AND having a sense of humour. Still..

I have had abusive answers from these guys. I find the best way is to ignore them or you are pouring fuel on their fire which encourages them to do more.
