I don't hate Canada.
They are cool in my book.
Some Americans can be jealous of them for some things though for little things like healthcare, education, drinking age, prostitution.

We love Canada! We do not think of it as "another U.S. state" however we do think of Canadians as being very similar to Americans. You're sort of like the next-door neighbors that we consider family!
We don't think you live in igloos, but I have a friend who lives in Montreal and she swears that she is always getting dumb questions from Americans about what Canada is like. Someone from the south once asked her, "Do you have Broccoli in Canada?" As if!
One last thought: when my Montreal friend and I went on a trip to Europe, almost all of the Aussies we met thought "Canada" was a city (yes, city) in the U.S. So you know, the dumbness about Canada isn't just with Americans. And it's not every American. Or every Aussie.

I don't hate Canada. I actually know only one Canadian, even though I live pretty close. I love the movie Strange Brew.

I can't ever say whether I love or hate a whole country. I mean I don't know the whole country. However I have the up most respect for Canada. It's laws and people (( from what I have seen )) seem to have a caring nature and are all about free spirit. Every country has their flaws, so I wouldn't let that be a deciding factor. Over all I think Canada is one of the brightest countries I have read about when it comes to understanding it's people. Consider yourself lucky, other countries don't have that.

I grew up in Detroit and always loved Canada. The drinking age was 19, we would just go across the boder, get a hotel room and walk from bar to bar. After I got older I enjoyed the shopping and how clean it was in Windsor. Niagara Falls is better on the Canadian side!
**EDIT** to agree with Misfit, the music from Canada is awesome. I love Sloan.
**EDIT PART 2*** How could I forget Tim Hortons! I love that coffee so much, I buy it off Ebay and have it shipped here to Arizona.

I don't think most Americans think about Canada at all.
edit: to clarify - my heritage is French Canadian - so I have nothing against Canada, but you guys keep a pretty low profile and Americans as a whole don't seem to take a lot of interest in Canadian politics or history.

LOVE Canada. I think Americans like Canada because you are probably the most similar to us, but are actually more respectable in many ways! You also have a beautiful country, friendly people, hockey, and wonderful culture and history.
