Person has been issued a subpoena and this person has moved and left no forwarding address, what does the court do or how do they handle it? Do they try to do some research to locate them?

The subpoena won't do any good unless it is personally served. However, it is typically not up to the court to serve the subpoena in most cases. It is usually up to the party to have it served.

In a civil case, the party or the attorney would hire an investigator and/or a process server to find the witness and serve the subpoena. In a criminal case, the district attorney might have people on staff to investigate this type of thing. Either way, it is usually up to the attorneys to move the case along, not the court.

Yes, they will be located. Just because you move doesn't mean you won't be served with a subpoena. Oh, they will be found and served. It won't take long either unless that person is hitchhiking across the country.

Unless the person is found who is supposed to be called, nothing.
