If there's an obscure song that I think would sound great as a MIDI file, is there an individual or group to whom I could submit it in hopes someone would listen to it and try to create a midi version?

I once tried to use a conversion program to convert a WAV recording of the song to a midi, but I didn't like the results. Part of the problem is that I don't know enough about the vocabulary of music to customize the results with the tools that were available.

Any feedback is welcome even if some would consider it annoyingly obvious.

In 1988 there was a short-lived sci-fi series called Probe that starred Parker Stevenson and Ashley Crow. The music was done by Sylvester Levay and the opening (and closing) theme music was very catchy and sounded like what one might expect from a Switched On Bach disc that rendered classical music from synthesizer programming.

I'm not sure Levay composed the melody himself; it might be based on a previously existing symphonic work. On at least one occasion, I ran across something attributed to Bach that had a similar structure or melody but different speed or timing.

I've never found a midi version at midi sites or TV theme show sites. I did once find a WAV file of the theme music online but I can get one even if that one has disappeared.

The show still airs occasionally on the Sci-Fi Channel. It's aired as a Series Collection and as part of Fantasticland daytime rotation. There may be places on the web where one can watch clips or episodes, but I haven't tried to find any.
