How frequently do you change sheets on unused beds after children are grown and live out of state?

If no one uses it, I'd say maybe every three months. At least once a year, though. And certainly before you have guests or someone coming to sleep in them.

If nobody sleeps in the bed... about every three to five centuries.
Just leave the blankets open, and don't create work where there is none.

Dust it every other day and change once a year.
