the brainwashing academies they are today.

She said testing takes away the focus. Well I thought the focus was to ensure they received an education and to verify it the students need to be tested.

Sounds funny to me.

The National Education Association (NEA) and other teacher's unions have a vested interest in lowered educational standards and spending without accountability.

Hillary has been bought and paid for by many dubious special interests, not the least of which is Big Labor

NCLB threatens the union cash cow. And the Democrats need the unions to keep the money coming in. And so it goes.

Hillary doesn't like it because it is a "check" on how our educational system is doing. Which is and has been for years NOT all that good.
The Dems discovered that by supporting the teachers unions, they in turn would have control over our public education systems. They don't want others to see how badly it is actually doing. Our public education system has become nothing but a Liberal philosophy indoctrination center.

It's pretty bad when kids today think that the Vietnam War is when we fought Japan. (Actual response from a 16 year old a few weeks ago).
They'll dang sure learn about the Dems version of the civil rights movement. They'll even learn all about Africa in February.
Forget the three R's. They want to teach our kids to be worldly.

Maintenance of the democrat base requires the dumbing down of potential voters. That has been the object of the American public school education system since the 60s, when the dumbing down of the educators began. The success of that program is evident in most of the questions and answers furnished by liberals in this forum. Conservatives seek to provide remedial education, but it's an uphill battle when the core knowledge of how the world functions is missing in the student body.

hillarys sole concern is training young liberals. usually that control is achieved through unfunded mandates that the local school administration is stuck with enabling by raising taxes. Hillary could care less about testing unless it makes her look better in a poll.

YES!!
For those who claim the teachers will just "teach the test," so the results aren't valid...
How do you determine if a child has learned to:
- Read at or above grade level?
- Solve math problems?
- Spell correctly?
- Use proper grammar?
- etc., etc., etc.?
You have to TEST them!

The problem is that liberals are taking her seriously. They never want their programs to be measured for success. Just look at the stink they put up on welfare reform.

Control the schools, keep people dumb. = Control the country.

How long before people can no longer home school and private institutions can no longer exist?

It's a systematic takeover of the mind.

When test scores are mandated instead of education, the school teaches to the test instead of educating.

As a result of the already-existing change in focus, we have a dramatic difference in the world today: I see ignorant people. Testing has very little to do with education. It's a validator and discriminator, but when it becomes the focus of the program, we obtain people like W. Although W is stupid as well as ignorant.
