It's not lack of faith.
People are afraid of darkness because environment is unknown when it's dark. you see, when you turn a light on, you are not afraid any more, because you can see what is around you.
The best thing that takes away your fear, is to think about good things, read your favorite books.
Praying is a good way too, when you pray, you feel safe.
Remember, God loves His people, He will always protect you.
Good Luck dear!

Being afraid of the dark, in my opinion, has nothing to do with faith and everything to do with vivid imaginations. The demons that visited you were most likely realistic dreams, which I have also had a few of. I am also afraid of the dark, but have not had a problem sleeping in total darkness provided I'm in my bed and don't have to get out.

I'm very sure it's your imagination. Your faith is always strong enough as long as you put some effort into it.

Just because you need a night light does not mean your faith isnt strong. All you can do is pray. Demons/creatures are in most places. Dont ever go to the "Hotel Del Coronado"
That place has roots. I've been there 2 times with my step-dad when i was little. They sense you are more sensative than other people & they are hoping that you will let them in. GOD is protecting you. Those creatures/demons are there but they cant touch you.Try to be strong and be a fighter. What i mean by fighter is, If you see it/them, (close your eyes if you want to) just keep thinking to yourself or say it outloud,
"i love GOD, nothing or anyone can take HIS place. When you say that, GOD is listening. You can also ask your mom or a family member to have your room or whole house blessed.

People who are scared are the dark, have a phobia
called shade-sensitive claustrophobia.
Which usually comes with Agoraphobia or just
claustrophobia, it's like light-sensitivity, where your
eyes feel uneasy and sometimes cause you to
faint, shade-sensitive claustrophobia causes you to
be frightened and uneasy of the dark, possibly fearing
demons or monsters.
Don't worry there is nothing there, try to train your brain
and go to sleep in a room, in the dark and slowly get
used to the darkness. If it still persists, consult a
therapist or doctor. It is common in pre-post teenager
years and dies out in life experience and adult-hood.
Imagination... Well I used to think there was a green
ball inside each ball, when I was nine and used to
see it. It wasn't there though!

Humans aren't nocturnal creatures, we can't see well in the dark and at night we have a natural heightened state of awareness. When we used to live out in the wild, we had to watch our back 24/7. So being afraid of the dark is natural. You know that there are no monsters or demons wandering your house at night, so don't be afraid! If you start getting nervous, drink some water, put some soft relaxing music on and take a deep breath!

In my opinion if parents don't want their children to be watching violent TV shows, they shouldn't be telling them that demons are real.

I am afraid of the dark as well. I believe it does not have anything to do with my religion, I am just afraid of the dark, I always have been. When I go to sleep, I leave at least one light on, in the bathroom or the hall and I leave me door opened a little. Sometimes I sleep with a night light.

When you close your eyes it is dark
Just say to yourself nothing has happen to me and nothing will happen
You will be alright it is all about mind over matter.
And if something was going to happen do you think being awake will make it better why waste so much time without sleep ?

Love & Blessings

Child,

Trust your faith. It can be stronger than you imagine.

You should seek counselling to help get over the events that happened when you were nine. I would not be surprised to find that some real traumatic event happened to you and your mind has covered with a substitute memory.

and of course we all know how the story ended - on hearing "Yes" the little boy reached out into the darkness - which was when the vampire bat swooped down and bit him on the wrist. sweet dreams.

i use to be afraid of the dark but one night i made up my mind, that i wasn't going to waste electricity.my electric bill was outrageous and i was having a hard time paying it.so you should just make up your mind to turn everything off and try to go to sleep.faith has nothing to do with it,whatever happened to you at age nine, does.good luck.
